Okay, let me throw in my two cents here. First of all, in the very first promo
pics when Dan was chosen were when, August 2000? Which means he was barely
eleven. To me, knowing the eleven year olds I know, he looked very much
eleven. I'd have believed twelve if you told me. If they were really so
concerned about how much he would change, they should've looked for a younger
child. The age range was 10-12, and he fell right in the middle. If it was
such an issue, it should've been 9-10.

But see, I don't picture Harry as staying a scrawny little boy. Maybe he's
supposed to, but I can't picture him that way. By PoA he's played two full
years of Quidditch, flies very well, and has turned into an excellent athlete.
Sure, the Seeker is usually the smallest person on the team, but as long as the
others are bigger that's good enough for me. Harry describes Cedric as being
much taller than him and he's a seeker.

Next point, I don't think it matters how much Daniel grows as to how much
taller the others are than him. As long as they have a nice tall Cedric
Diggory and so on, it should be fine. When Harry is continually referred to
as "little boy" and so on, it's by 17 and 18 year olds. So as long as they are
adequately taller, no problem.

Not necessarily. I still think that once Harry got out of his little cupboard
and away from people who allowed their son to take anything Harry had he
wanted, including food, that he would grow a great deal. Sort of like a
goldfish being moved from a tiny bowl into a fish pond. They grow in leaps and
bounds.

Also, I think the "innocence" was lost in PoA to an extent. Sure, not as
drastically as in GoF, but I pictured Harry looking older by PoA. Not a sweet
little boy look, but a growing boy turning into a young man.

Okay, enough babbling for now.

Yep, that's what I think most people worry about.

When they picked Daniel, he looked young for his age, and
they probably didn't expect him to start looking older than
his years quite this soon.

And with Harry supposed to be smaller than his age, they are
afraid he'll grow too far away from the image a lot of
readers have in their minds.

Doesn't matter if he grows into a handsome young man, they
want to see Harry as described in the books.

Their is enough worry about the eye and hair color our
there.
If Daniel now grows into a sturdy young man, the image fits
even less.

I have to admit to having seen the movie first, having been
dragged to it by my husband and daughter, who read the books
together.

So for me the characters in my mind look like the actors.
Doesn't really matter to me, if they don't quite match the
book description.

And I hate having new actors take over a beloved role!

But not everyone has liked the actor choices to begin with,
from what I've read.
