My thoughts are still that they are trying to sum up in a single line Harry's
perceptions. In the first *movie* for example, Harry scarcely even touches his
wand. Now he's joined the dueling club, he's not afraid any more to get out
there and try something. He believes in himself, and the rest will come.

I sincerely hope they just turned the volume down in the trailer. Or else Mrs.
Weasley could yell that loud herself. :) Maybe louder!

Hagrid is the first to say that Harry looks like his father and has his
mother's eyes, when he first sees Harry, but in the movie he just says "Well,
of course you are." But since JKR keeps insisting that there's something
special about his eyes, I can't understand them leaving it out. Unless, of
course, it's special that he has his mother's eyes, not that he has his
mother's *green* eyes, in which case they could change everybody's eyes to
blue. But I wish they'd quit messing with Rupert/Ron's eyes. What color *are*
they? In most pictures they're blue, then I find them grey, which is possible,
they could change, but then they go and turn them brown! Good grief!

That was me that asked. I watched it again, and it's definitely a Sytherin.
There are four Slytherins headed right at Harry and one swings the bat at what
appears to be Harry's head. Unless they forgot to edit in a bludger. :)

Ah, well, enough of that. For now. :)

I agree with bboy that the spiders are much too small. Even before I
read the maze scene in GoF, I had imagined much larger spiders in
CoS. Based primarily on what CoS tells us in Ch. 15: "Spiders the
size of carthorses, eight-eyed, eight-legged, black, hairy,
*gigantic.* The *massive* specimen that was carrying Harry..." (my
emphases).

May I say again that the Serpensortia snake is also much too small
(and it should be black, not brown/green!). It needs to bare its
fangs at Harry and Justin - this snake isn't big enough to have fangs!

Thanks to c (kesa) for pointing out other examples of Lucius'
sarcasm. I still don't like the Lucius-Harry exchange at the end of
the trailer, but I now don't have a rational explanation for it -
it's just my gut reaction!

I also agree with those who have said the Howler isn't loud enough.
CoS says "Mrs. Weasley's yells, a *hundred* times louder than usual,
made the plates and spoons rattle on the table, and schoed
deafeningly off the stone walls" (Ch. 6). There's nothing deafening
about the Howler in the trailer!

I also agree with Richelle about the unfortunate lack of Harry's
green eyes in the movie. IIRC, no one mentions how Harry looks like
his father and has his mother's eyes in the first movie, and I think
this is a real oversight given how the plot unfolds in PoA.

Someone asked about the Slytherin beater - I'll have to watch the
trailer again, but I thought that was Fred or George trying to get
the rogue bludger away from Harry.

On Hagrid's size - I think the first movie was very inconsistent on
this. In some scenes, Coltrane towers over others (I'm thinking of
when Hagrid and Harry are walking through London on their way to
Diagon Alley and when they are in the train station) while in other
scenes (primarily at Hogwarts) Coltrane looks almost normal-size. I
agree with bboy that they could be doing a much better job with this.

who should probably *not* watch these movies!
