I am so glad to have found these HP groups! I have
yet to make any of my friends or family as obssessed
with HP as I am so it's so nice to have a place to go
where I can chatter endlessly about HP with others who
*want* to chatter about it endlessly. :) I'm
definitely going at some point during opening day and
it'll be interesting to see what kinds of looks my
husband and I get as we buy tickets for ourselves and
no children. :) Last year I saw SS/PS several times
in the theater and I went by myself once and was
surrounded by mothers with their children. :)
I just have to declare that I found both Lockhart and
Snape quite sexy in the pics of the dueling scene.
Yes, I actually found Snape attractive, miracle of all
miracles!! I'm really impressed with Kenneth Branagh,
though. I thought he was a handsome man but he looks
drop-dead gorgeous in the CoS photos!

I recently read LOTR for the first time and I'm a huge
fan of the FOTR movie. I have found some LOTR fans
who are, for lack of a better word, snobs. Yes,
Tolkien's work is masterful but so is JKR's. I like
them both for different reasons but I find it
insulting when people describe HP as "cute" and
denigrate it compared to LOTR. Obviously they have
not really read and understood the subtle imagery and
the brilliant turns of phrase that JKR uses. HP is
written in a different style than LOTR but I do not
find it any less brilliant. I think that JKR is a
masterful writer and I would love to be able to write
half as well as she does. I proudly declare that I
love both HP and LOTR!
Corgi, I have to tell you, after seeing your photos of
Jason Carter, I am now convinced more than ever that
he *must* be cast as Sirius. He *is* Sirius! I found
his pics so appealing that I think my huge crush on
Orlando Bloom/Legolas might be seriously threatened if
Jason Carter is cast in PoA. :) If that does happen,
guess I'll just have to alternate between daydreams of
elves and daydreams of wizards.
