Sirius's appearance.

How about this then: whether or not we see Sirius with facial hair 
depends on which actors we envision in the part.  The ones I've 
pictured have almost always been clean-shaven, while others (such as 
Carter or Oldman) often wear beards--and don't look half bad with 
them.
