And green eyes may very well be important in the books but in the movies they 
can make blue eyes just as important.  Its just a detail. 

In other words whatever latent "powers" he might have that are indicated by 
his brilliant green eyes can easily be changed to being attributed to his 
brilliant blue eyes.
