POA -- a John Williams score?

Have you seen A.I., though? All through that movie, I was thinking things like: 
"Gorgeous score. I wonder who wrote it?" I actually considered the possibility that it 
was Williams, only to dismiss it, figuring that it simply didn't *sound* like his stuff. 
But, er, of course, it *was* Williams.

It's a great score, and quite, quite dark. A.I. is darker in parts than most of POA is  -- 
or, no, not darker, eaactly, but far more. . . *sordid.* And that one theme. . . I don't 
know if it's the main theme, but it's the one that plays on the DVD main menu, and I 
can't describe it, except to say that it's all. . . dark and ominous and sort of tragic, if I 
don't sound too silly saying it. The A.I. music isn't even scored like most of John 
Williams's music is -- I don't know if there's a single brass instrument throughout the 
whole thing. As I recall it, it's mostly strings. 

If you haven't seen A.I. though, and you're really doubtful about Williams's ability to 
pull off a different sort of score, check out the film.
