Casting of Thewlis as Lupin

I think you're right, I absolutely adore Lupin, he's one of my favourite 
characters and I was really interested to see who they would cast. David 
Thewlis is actually quite a brilliant actor in my opinion, and I think he'll 
do a great job. I'm really not fussed on looks, I think it's more important 
for someone to capture the heart and soul of the character and add the kind 
of depth that's needed when translating a character from a book to the 
screen. It's kind of unfair for everyone to be paying him out before they've 
even seen the film.

If anyone's interested I recommend Gangster Number One as a great picture 
with Thewlis in it, also Total Eclipse with Leo DiCaprio which is more 
contoversial and a bit strange at times, but I think he does a great job in 
it. I think he was also in Dragonheart with Jason Isaacs.
