<<Who would I have picked instead?  Well, I don't have a definite 
candidate, but I have some ideas.  Hugh Jackman and Viggo Mortensen can both obviously pull off the "I may be dangerous and deadly, but I could really use a hug right now (and if you tell anyone that, I'll have to kill you, you realize)" >> I absolutely agree with you on your choices! even though Hugh is Australian and Viggo ..American (?). I think they both pull off fine English accents and carry both a bit of snarl and warmth at the same time. I've also always thought that Colin Firth would have been wonderful as Sirius too. He can brood very well! Kibi
