Hogwarts Paintings.

That's really interesting [about the paintings].  I have yet to 
figure out the picture of Hester Prynne, Pearl, and Arthur 
Dimmesdale that waves (I think it waves) to the Gryffindor students 
on the way to the Dormitory in the first film.  Perhaps Chris 
Columbus is a fan of "The Scarlet Letter"?  Hmmmm....Most the other 
paintings were un-recognizable (if that's a word) so perhaps they 
*are* the production crew.  

Can anyone shed light on the subject?
