No need to doubt your memories of the book. The student choir, along
with Draco's origami crane and their rings/tie-clips, plus a whole
lot other things (student wearing "uniforms" in the film, for
instance) are filmmakers' own input, which are artistic decisions to
make the on-screen world richer with details. I don't understand some
of the fans' mindset that they expect/demand every single element and
details in the film must be slavishly lifted from the book.If they
see something unfamiliar "I didn't remember that from the book" they
get uncomfortable. Because in my case I'll be (usually) pleasantly
surprise (if they're done within the spirit of JKR's world). These
little artistic input only enchance the movie watching experience. As
a fan who's expert on the books and not a purist, I'd like to see
more imagination, something original done in the films (of course
must made sense being part of JKR's world). In this case, to add a
school choir is a pretty...reasonable decision that could only make
the world richer. Maybe they're just footage filmed for the trailer
alone, maybe they are in the actual...we don't know yet.
But "something wicked this way comes" is a great concept to used in a
trailer as a device that ties-in and pull together. This teaser is
much much more conceptual and "designed" than the prevous ones (they
were simply forgettable and predictable straightforward editing nice
scenes together).
