[HPFGU-Movie] Riddle's crest

In the second Harry Potter movie, why does Riddle have a Griffindor crest on his clothes? Wasn't he in Slytherin?

Taryn:
It's not a Gryffindor crest, it's a crest of all the houses together. But if you look at the color of his tie and the bordering on his sweater-vest, it's very clearly green and silver. I don't have any screenshots, but here's one of the early official pics of him:
