I always thought that Harry remebers the name Riddle from either the 
diary, or the trophy. Sorry, haven;t got my cannon with me, but I am 
pretty sure that the name Riddle has been mentioned at these points 
which I vaguley remeber- detention, Ron vomitting slugs, cleaning 
trophies- can't remeber if Ron told Harry or if Harry was there
- the diary belonging to Riddle
