have been referring to with his 'smile, and smile, and be a
villain'. (Didn't look it up to make sure I have it exact, hence not
quotes.) :-)

I have enjoyed Patrick Stewart's performances for many years. Yes, I
vividly remember him as Sejanus. I still get chills. How about his
recent work, Captain Ahab in Moby Dick comes to mind.
Has anyone seen him do "A Christmas Carol"? His versatility is
amazing.
I have always been impressed with the quality of actors being brought
to these films. In my own experience, I have found that since my
kids love these movies, I have the opportunity to bring classic
literature to their attention. When they ask me about the actor who
plays a certain role, I bring to their attention other things that
actor has done. For example, Kenneth Branagh. When the kids asked
about him, I told them about his forays into Shakespeare.
They expressed interest in seeing some of that and as a result, we
rented "Much Ado About Nothing". Voila, Shakespeare was introduced.
Even Daniel Radcliffe was a way to bring Dickens into my home. We
have our own copy of "David Copperfield". From the films, it's a
short jump to books.
Because of films like these, my home library is expanding. It's a
great way to lead children to read.
