There is no way I shall be able to find the reference, but JK Rowling 
once said that Harry's eyes were a weakness, that that's where he is 
vulnerable. Well, he wears glasses and doesn't see very well without 
them. In the whomping willow scene, Harry loses his glasses as he 
gets pummelled by the tree and his vision i blurred. This does not 
happen in the book. I could see this as a possible foreshadowing: 
Harry losing his glasses, or being deprived of them at a crucial 
moment, perhaps making a grave mistake or being in a life-
threatenting situation due to blurred vision...
