One of my co-workers is a huge movie buff (Wants to be a director and screen
writer), and keeps track of all this sort of stuff. According to him, they're
going to try and fit most of the book into a four hour (Give or take a half
hour) movie, with an intermission planned after the first two hours during
theater showings.
Hopefully, that'll be enough time to fit everything in that's important to the
story itself...although I would also expect some very creative cutting and
snipping to take place with less essential sub-plots, not to mention
alterations as well. They already seem to be doing that with the werewolf scene
in the third movie...and although I AM an avid believer in Snape as a 'good
guy' (But not a 'nice' guy...), the change sort of disconcerted me...

I like this idea the best. 2 hours, intermission, then final 2 hours. So it
doesn't break the suspense. Don't know how the younger viewers could sit still
for that long, though...
LOTR-Return of the King was almost 3.5 hours long. But I'll bet all of the big
fans sat through it all without even a pee-pee break! :-) The true HP fans
would do the same.
But I'll bet the studio (Sony?) would love 2 movies so that they can charge for
2!
So what change is being made with Snape and Lupin, in the film? I hadn't
heard...
