magical design

HI listees,
All the major HP-sites have reported on a new promotional HP-store in Japan,
and have shown scans of sime if the items in it.

When I first saw the pictures of the PoA Firebolt, I was surprised, and perhaps
a little disappointed; it didn't look anything like I had imagined it. (And as we
all know, MY vision is the only viable one......ha ha) With the design of Nimbus
2000 and 2001 in mind--streamlined and aerodynamic, I had expected
something similar of the Firebolt design, only times ten. Instead, it looked to
me like some wizarding world fancy bad-boy ride.

Having thought about it for a while, however, it hit me: Who says wizarding
design has to look anything like muggle design? The Firebolt is a thouroughly
magical object, and the look should reflect that. Wizards don't have to
consider the same kinds of problems muggles do while designing "vehicles."
The prop designers decided to drop the muggle thinking and adopr a magical
design. Having reached that conclusion, I'm all for it. (Do you think those
runes are magical controls, or just the serial number or what?)
