Casting volde, it's the voice

Hi All,

Having just failed to move a movie related thread from

I'd like to fork it here anyway.

But Tyler pointed us to The Leaky Cauldron for a rebuttal. However, 
on route, several listies chimed in with interesting points. I'd 
like to add one. For me the really hard character to voice when I'm 
reading HP to Megan and William (my kids) is Volde. We know he's 
powerful, we know he's accomplished, we know he's evil, we know he's 
scary, and we know he has a high pitched voice. I can never seem to 
make the voice high pitched without sacrificing one of the other 
requirements. I don't find Stephen Fry's rendition convincing and I 
cannot remeber Jim Dale's. But I am left thinking that, unless they 
are planning lots of voice effects, he will be very tricky to cast.
