I was just going to mention him when replying to a previous message. The only
thing I wonder about is how JKR kind of downplays Dean Thomas in the over all
story. Like it was important to really mention his background cause it has no
effect to the story. Does that make sense?

I just had a thought on who it might be, what about Dean Thomas? I
was looking on JKR's web site and she has a section with info on him.
  His back ground is that
"Dean is from what he always thought was a pure Muggle background.
He has been raised by his mother and his stepfather; his father
walked out on the family when Dean was very young. He has a very
happy home life, with a number of Half-brothers and sisters."

In this section she comments that she was going to put his background
in COS but sacrificed it for Neville, whose more important to the
  overall story....
I don't know, I guess I'll just have to wait for the book to come
out. I'm hoping that it will be next summer.
