I disagree - I think it was clever of them to have him crying while still
under the cloak because crying IS a difficult thing to do convincingly and this
way, we can hear it, but not really see it. I didn't find this awkward at all,
the sobbing wasn't wailing or particularly loud (at least in the theater where
I was <g>). Once the cloak is off, he's not sitting there weeping - he's
upset, but not holding his head in his hands and shaking with sobs or anything
that dramatic. He is sufficiently in control to talk to Hermione and then get
angry over what he's heard.
