I inadvertently saw it on the IMAX screen on opening day. I bought
tickets online and just thought they were more expensive because I
was buying them online (I'm pretty dense sometimes, I know).

We were sitting very close, third row I think. Not because we got
there late, we were there 35 minutes before it started. But there
were large groups in which one or two people went ahead and claimed
an entire row. Naturally there were no ushers around, probably
because it was a 12:30 show on Friday. Anyway, seeing 95% of the
movie on the IMAX screen was great. There were a couple of times I
thought I was gonna hurl though - the shots of the rolling hills,
flying, etc. Even though I'm prone to motion sickness, I don't think
it would have affected me if I wasn't so close to the screen. My
husband and I saw Return of the King on the IMAX screen (sitting
second row from the back) and I had no problems with that at all.
