That's a good idea, I didn't know the deleted scenes were on the VHS version. 
HOWEVER on the dvd if you have a dvd player in your computer you can go to 
the title menu (usually by left-mouse-clicking) and pick title 65 (or something 
close to it) you can't get *directly* to the scenes that way, but you can skip 
most of the tests and get to the potion or key part of 'getting the stone'. 
(btw, the key is the one in the middle, and the potion is the small, fat one, I 
think its yellow). Entertainment Weekly actually named SS/PS as one of the 
worst DVDs of the year because of the hassel getting to the deleted scenes 
(which may be why CoS has them right there on the main menu of disk 2).
