"Only one thing troubles me...this is the second movie where Hermione
says Ron's lines from the book. In Chamber of Secrets she said all
the stuff about what a mudblood was, it came off rather well but that
was not her line and in this one it is her that says the line to
Sirius about 'if you want to kill Harry you will have to kill us
too.' Don't get me wrong I think she is also become quite a good
young actress but these lines I think would show a non-goofy side to
Ron. He seems like the comic relief in the films and I would love to
see him like he was in the chess scene in PS/SS. I would just like to
see his potential as an actor shown. "

To be blunt, I think they are giving Emma Watson so much of the important
dialogue simply because she is the strongest actor out of the three leads.
Truly, the girl is gifted. You can actually *see* her thinking, she's so in
the moment. The boy who plays Ron is as cute as a button, and was quite good
in the first film, but his acting in the second movie was rather poor,
consisting mainly of mugging to the camera. It is not his fault, he is a child who
had no previous acting experience and Chris Columbus should have been teaching
him how to act: that was his job as the director. Rupert Grint certainly has
natural talent, but he does not seem to have worked much on character
development, or he has not been shown how to convey an inner world. Once again,
it's Columbus' fault, not his. Emma Watson, on the other hand, is just
brilliant.
