I know it's all said and done. And actually, I've seen quite a few of
his movies. I do think he is an incredible actor. I just don't see
him as being the former babe Sirius must have been (according to his
description in canon). Yes, I know that was before 12 years of
torment. I have seen Mr. Oldman in roles where he has been seductive
and passionate (Dracula and Immortal Beloved come to mind), he has
proved he can played intense, half-crazed murdering types (Air Force
One), he's shown ruthlessness and comedic timing (in Fifth Element).
He definitely has the emotional range for this. I did not mean to
discredit his acting. I simply think his frame is different, his face
is different, than I had originally envisioned. I am sure I will fall
in love with his performance. The casting directors probably made the
best choice posssible. I do think Colin Firth would have been able to
pull it off, though, based on some of his work that I've seen. It's
neither here nor there at this point, I just wondered if anybody else
had had the same misgivings.
