That said, I have a few where the movie really disappointed, too:
1.The end of CoS. I have no idea why the whole school would applaud
Hagrid. Bugs me every time
2.Devil's Snare. In the book, Hermione loses her head and Ron has to
remind her she knows how to conjure fire. Both these characters lose
something in the movie version.
3.Firenze. Enough said about that.

Oh, don't get me started on Firenze! I was SO looking forward to how they
would do the centaurs, and Firenze was awful. The unicorn was awful too. Have
any of you seen (rats what's the name??) "Legend," I think it is, with a VERY
young Tom Cruise? They had GORGEOUS unicorns in that (real horses with horns
applied -- except when the horns flopped a bit when they galloped, they looked
fabulous!) Even CGI-created unicorns and centaurs could've looked better
than these did. Yucko!! :-P~~~~ (Raspberries to the CGI crew for those scenes).
And Devil's Snare -- that line about "You ARE a witch, aren't you?" is SO
perfect, and they completely messed up that scene IMO. There was no reason to
change it. It would have been just as visually dramatic as it was written. I
missed seeing Hermione's "trademark" bluebell flames -- she just did "normal"
fire when she set Snape's robes on fire.
I think the Quidditch game was well-done -- adding Harry "surfing" on the
broom was a bit much, but pretty cool visually. And the way he tumbled when he
fell off, and how he "threw up" the snitch -- very nice (and I do know that was
in the book -- it was just a great visual).
I do think the handling of the basilisk scene, with Harry being healed AFTER
he destroyed the diary, was very well done. And his meeting Hermione in
Diagon Alley, where they have that little "Hi, we haven't seen each other in a
while, should we hug or not?" kind of moment was interesting. Since they're so
young, I didn't think of it as "sexual tension" as someone else on here
suggested, but as the normal awkwardness of kids who are friends but aren't sure if
their friend will be offended if they do something they feel like doing
(hugging, which would have come from Hermione, no doubt).
I can't WAIT to see PoA!! YIKES we have to wait HOW many more days??? Argh!!
Wishing I could go to the premiere in NYC. . .
