Hey all!
I went to visit the in-laws in Tucson this weekend and my sister-in-
law asked if I wanted to take her 8 year old so she and her hubby
could pack for their camping trip and my two boys to see Harry
Potter - they had won 4 free passes on the radio last Thursday. So,
at 11:30 I headed to the theater with the three boys and their
gameboys to keep them occupied since it was a 2 pm show. We already
had like 30 people in front of us but it was worth the wait. It was
awesome. Alfonso is most definitely different than Chris. I love the
first two movies but I think I like Alfonso's style better so thank
you, Mr. Heyman for hiring him - you are definitely now my favorite
producer now.
I will try not spoil it for any of you but I will give you all one
piece of advice - go in thinking of seeing a great film about Harry
Potter and try not to compare it to the book like I kept doing
subconsciously - had to tell myself to stop it about half way
through - as there are LOADS of differences. Some good some well just
different. Seems to be a bit more than the first two films even but
still it was awesome - way better than the first two. The dementors
were brilliant. Way scarier and more brilliantly done than the Ring
Wraiths if you ask me. I loved the punch scene - Go Hermione Go! The
Shrieking Shack scene and the time turner scenes were my favorites.
David Thewlis and Gary Oldman were brilliant as Remus and Sirius.
Remus seemed a little more like he is in book 5 - he was a very
comforting person. I know there has been loads of discussion about
Gary not being good looking enough for Sirius but he is Sirius and
you could still see a handsome man underneath his scruffy dirty
appearance. (Except his teeth - man needs a toothbrush big time
before I would kiss him).Timothy Spall as Pettigrew was really creepy
and rat like - perfect. The trio have definitely improved as actors.
Seemed to really act naturally this time around - nothing seemed
forced and they really seemed to BE Harry, Ron and Hermione. Still
cannot decide who Hermione likes. Michael Gambon makes a great
Dumbledore - funny, a strong presence and full of great wisdom and
understanding but yes is different than Richard Harris who was
Dumbledore as I had envisioned him when reading the books. I had one
minor disappointment but if I say anything now it will spoil it for
everyone so suffice it to say it is a small thing relating to the map
and after everyone sees it we can decide if it really is an important
thing or not. I am sure it will come up on this list anyway. And yes
I will honestly say I do still plan to see it again on the 4th. (and
maybe a few more times after that). Anyway, hope this didn't spoil
anything for you all, I was just so excited about seeing it, I had to
let everyone know it is absolutely brilliant.

PS: Sorry one tiny spoiler - yes the choir is in there but it is ok
where they placed it.
