Did anyone else see the Today Show? Dan was too, too adorable in the
dressing room pigging out on cookies and donuts! It must've been hard for
him to focus on giving an interview outside with Katy Couric, surrounded by
screaming fans! I'm very impressed with how well spoken he is for a 14 year
old. You could tell he was nervous, but he did a great job. :-)

I wonder how much of a run for it's money HP3 will give Shrek2? Although
Shrek is probably a little more mass appeal than HP.

I LOVED the green room scene on Today (the cookie and donut scene) -- too
cute! I thought Dan did very well, and he's good at meeting the public, shaking
hands and writing on posters and all that. I've been looking at the pics and
video from the red carpet stuff (thank heaven for the Internet!!!) and Dan
actually looked a bit frightened by the crowd, and in his interviews seemed a lot
more nervous than usual. Of course, he IS "Harry Potter" and most of those
people were there to see him, much more than the other actors, I suppose, and
fans have been known to mob their favorite stars and rip at their hair and
clothes -- I sure hope they have good security for him for these things. It was
interesting to me that Tom Felton's comments (which I only saw in print, not on
video) were cool, calm and collected, where Dan's seemed a bit unnerved (Tom
was asked about the fangirl reaction being as big for him as for Dan or even
bigger, and he said something about, "well, they like a bad boy" or something
like that). Tom's 16 now, right, and Dan won't be 15 until July. I wonder how
much of the difference is the difference in their age, or experience (Tom's
been in more movies, hasn't he?) or personality. Just curious. The one time
Dan looked like a "normal teenager" was on TRL when he ENTHUSED about Gary
Oldman (he REALLY enthused -- didn't say much, but you could see in his face and
body language he was bursting with excitement and had something "different" to
say than "brilliant" or "amazing" -- I think his "different" word was
"fantastic," LOL!), and then again about British bands he likes. Emma was very good
on TRL, and I thought it was sweet how Dan kept pitching the conversation to
her. But what was it he said when they were asked about the cast becoming a
family? He said he thought of Emma as a sister and was a bit overprotective of
her and then he said something else fast while waving his mike around (it's
obvious he and Emma don't often use hand mikes!) Anyone catch that? What fun to
see all this stuff. Oh, and they showed when Dan was on TRL when he was 12
-- for CoS -- and they brought that woman who was wearing only a towel and
carrying a sign that said "nothing comes between me and Harry Potter" -- I thought
he'd seen her through the window, but they brought her into the studio and
face to face with Dan! She was cool and calm, he was blushing! When they
showed that clip, Dan said he looked like a frog back then. Heehee.
