I think the fans would absolutely resist having anyone
other than Dan, Rupert and Emma playing those roles! 
That factor should absolutely outweigh any age
discrepancy.  And from a business sense, the trio
would be nuts not to see the franchise through --
heck, the first two movies have already made Dan the
second richest teenager in the U.K.  Show business is
rife with stories of people who walked away from
successful projects because they felt too limited in
the role, only to never have another success (Shelley
Long and David Caruso spring to mind).
