He can certainly do barking mad, coldly evil - see Schindler's List. 
Also you can see from Schindler's List, where he was decadently 
porky, and Red Dragon, where he was muscled up, that he can change 
his appearance for a role. The only thing that occurred to me is that 
he has quite a prominent nose, whereas Voldemort doesn't have one at 
all. I wonder how make-up are going to deal with that one.
