I think you make a couple really good points. Cuaron as 
cinematographer would have been superb. 

Also, I absolutely cringe when I see that ending. Everone around me 
was like, "What the heck?" when it ended. Not the feeling you want 
as a movie ends. I thought it was cheesy and cheap. 

I also agree with you that the credits were great!
