Yes, not to rag on poor Emma, but she looks better with bangs. Emma seemed
to fit the bill as ³book Hermione² in the first, and maybe 2nd movie.
Actually her hair was more crimped than ³frizzy². But then again, she
doesn¹t have buck teeth either! Funny how the directors saw fit to make
Neville wear prosthetic teeth to make him more goofy looking, but not
Hermione...I really get the impression from the books that she¹s not
supposed to be very good-looking (at least that¹s what Pansy Parkinson told
me!! :-)
And yeah, I really liked Dan¹s hair in POA. Shortish, but spiky on top.

I thought Hermione's hair looked good in PoA -- kind of spiral curled,
parted in the center. It's EMMA's hair that bothers me, although Hermione's hair
is supposed to be bushy, not spiral curled. She's not going to have enough
of a transition from Hermione to "Yule Ball Hermione" for the boys to not be
able to recognize her. If she'd gone from "first film Hermione" to "Yule Ball
Hermione" in looks, yeah, that would be a visual shock to the boys. Cuaron
did the movies a disservice by making her too pretty (Emma's a pretty girl -
Hermione isn't supposed to be, not until the Yule Ball after she's had her
teeth fixed and puts her hair up for the first time).
And poor Neville -- they made him wear shoes two sizes too big and they put
things behind his ears to make them sit out more, as well! And as crooked as
Matt Lewis's teeth are, he didn't really need a dental appliance, poor kid!
(What do Brits have against braces for their teeth???)
As for Harry's hair -- I liked it a lot in PoA, and I like Harry's hair from
the stills I've seen in GoF -- it's *Dan's* hair that's weird-looking in the
GoF interview shots shown in the ABC commercial for Saturday's show. And
boy, what an awful pic they chose of him to use as the still for showing the
trio being interviewed -- his lips tight together in a thin smile? And his
hair's a lot lighter -- too much time in the 20 foot tank?? It looks dry and
nearly frizzy. *HE's* getting *Hermione's* hair, that's it! heehee.
I also don't understand why the producers allow the kids to show up in what
I would consider "play clothes" (mostly the boys -- Emma dresses a bit nicer)
for interviews. Rupert's usually in holey jeans and both boys are wearing
well-worn t-shirts, from the looks of them (the graphics are soft and look as
if they've been washed many times). It's nice to let them be comfortable, and
the early days of Dan being in a suit with his hair combed Pierce Brosnan
style wouldn't look right for him as a teen, but still -- even rock stars dress
a bit nicer than that for interviews a good bit of the time.
I do wish Warners would consult with us before presenting *our* kids in a
less-than-perfect light!! heehee
Yes, I'm a dreamer. . .
