A bit macabre, yes, but there's always the possibility of going to a PG-13
rating. They will probably have to for OotP, and there is enough disturbing
material in GoF that it will totally depend on how they handle it whether they
can stick to PG. Star Wars finally went to PG-13, even though most of the
"bad" stuff was off camera and not too graphic. I almost suspect they put in
just enough violence to get the PG-13 rating to make it more believable that it
was going to be "dark".

BTW, finally took the kids to see Star Wars this weekend (yes, the PG-13 rating
did worry me, so I waited for other parents' input - and it would worry my with
HP too, but I have no qualms about playing hookey from work to preview HP by
myself ;-)) and they had a nice trailer for Disney's Chronicles of Narnia, due
out this Christmas. It looks good. AND it's nearly 3 hours long - WHY can't
they do that with HP???
