before seeing the movie last night, i told my boyfriend that i had  
heard how this movie was a bit confusing for non-readers of the  
books. i said that i wondered if we, the readers, felt this way  
because we knew all of the extra information that was provided in the  
book. after we saw the movie, the only thing he was confused about  
was why barty crouch sr. had been killed - that was never explained  
in the movie. i thought they did a good job of putting two-and-two  
together for non-readers (making it obvious that crouch jr. was  
crouch sr.'s son during the scene in the pensieve, flashing back to  
show that crouch jr. was also the man with voldie and wormtail in the  
old house).
