first, in the SS/PS film, the way Quirrell was
handled--first, having the turban on and being unable to shake Harry's
hand at the Leaky and then the crumbling-into- sand death scene
witnessed by Harry (who should then have started seeing thestrals in
his second year, not fifth)

now Candace:
I so agree with you. When I was new to the HP world, a friend of mine told me that no, he turned around and didn't witness the death. I was like, I don't think that's the case. Not only that, he killed someone (in my opinion) not on purpose, he had no idea what he was doing.
Btw, Prisoner is my fav too. Book, movie, whichever!LOL

>Lizzie Lilly
In GoF the omission of Snape showing his Dark Mark to Fudge and DD sending him off to return to Voldie.

then can can;
I totally agree with to. The entire end of Goblet after he returns with Cedric's body is a very powerful bunch of scenes and really sets the tone for the next few books/movies. I mean now all of sudden, Order going to be dark, when no movie goer had gotten the real hint of how dark because at the end of Goblet, Harry was smiling. I think it would have really wow-ed movie goers and they would have really been intrigued to maybe even see the movies in a whole in new light.

peace...real love...

"It is not our abilities that make us who we are. It is our choices." Albus Dumbledore (JKR)

"Life's too short to be kissing someone elses behind, especially since mine is so big." Whoopi Goldberg

  Now Wootshanks:
  First...(just a minor nitpik here, Eustace) Harry met Querrill in the first book...not the second.
  And Second...here's what REALLY happened with the death of Quirrell. In the books, Harry closed his eyes and then passed out before Quirrell died. Dumbledore later told Harry that Q didn't survive the encounter.
  As far as seeing Thestrals after the death of Cedric, JK explained that Cedric's death didn't "sink in" in Harry's mind until he had a chance to calm down and think about it over the summer holiday. She said she did that because she wanted to wait until the next book before introducing the Thestrals to us.
