Well said.  I'm taking my 15y/o daughter to see Sweeney Todd over 
Christmas vacation even though it's rated R.  She's already seen the 
stage show, and knows that this one will be bloodier -- so it's just 
not an issue.  When she was younger I would screen films first, 
especially if I thought there might be something in it a  bit much for 
her to handle.  It would be nice if more parents did the same.
