Ginny and Lily's resemblance

That's not the filmmaker's doing - the BOOKS say  Lily had long, dark red 
hair (the last book emphasized "dark" by repeating it  someplace).  Ginny's 
always had a long mane of red hair in the books too,  so it was JKR who set the 
whole thing up.  And yeah, people often do marry  folks who resemble their 
parents either physically or in  personality.
