really don't like him. I don't think he really plays Dumbledore to
well, although I do admit in the 5th movie there was improvement. I
don't think his death scene in the 6th movie is going to move me as
much as it should.

Carol responds:
I wonder if having read DH, knowing that Snape isn't traitorously
murdering his mentor and that Dumbledore isn't quite the benevolent,
twinkly-eyed good guy we thought he was, will affect our reaction to
DD's death no matter who plays him or how well he's played. (I do hope
that Michael Gambon knows what's coming and what DD *really* means by
"Severus, please!' A lot rides on those few words. (Of course, the
movie audience has to believe that Snape is evil, but his redemption
in the DH film has to be credible, too. Rickman can manage ambiguity
perfectly and has done so throughout the films. Can Gambon? I just
don't know.)

the first movies, but he just doesn't seem like Arthur anymore to me,
especially in the 5th one. I'm not quite sure what it is, but theres
something.

Carol:
So it's not just me. He seemed different in this film, and it wasn't
just his hair. In fact, it was primarily his face and possibly his
expressions. And I don't mean when he's all cut and bruised, wearing
the Christmas crown (a British tradition?) but when he's taking Harry
to the MoM. It wasn't as striking as the difference in Vernon Dursley,
but it was noticeable and distracting.
