Rik Mayall was cast as Peeves and then cut from the first movie.  The director felt they already 
had too many characters.  This was such a big disappointment since he would have been a 
fantastic Peeves.

Now I haven't seen him do anything since the Young Ones and so all I can picture is Vivian.  
In my mind then, he'd have to play Dudley!
