Steph:
I don't think he'd be any good. We'd get superficial blockbuster
instead of a film with feeling, which DH definitely is. Yes,
"Schindler's List" was great, but a totally different type of film. I
don't think he can do a SFX film that isn't kiddie. But that's just me.
FWIW, I hear that there might be a Guillermo del Toro/Cuaron directing
team for DH. Don't know if it's true, though. That could be
interesting.
Kloves is back for sure for the script. I suspect he's working on it
even though he officially can't because of the writer's strike.
As for a two-part DH, I doubt it's going to happen. If it was
actually a possibility, a more reputable publication than the Daily
Mail would report it (Variety, anyone?). I don't think they're going
to want to drag it out any longer. I could see them making it three
hours, though. If they split it in two they could be facing Harry
Potter Fatigue, where people just want to get it over with and
wouldn't want to sit through two separate films.
