Isn't that pretty much what happened in the 4th movie with the 
Quidditch Cup?  They didn't even really show any of the action of 
the game - it was just a plot device to get HRH to see the dark mark 
in the sky after the game was over.  It could be similarly done with 
the wedding - don't even show the wedding, just the reception with 
all the important people and symbols being shown.
