Carol responds:
Thanks. That's close to what I heard. The analysis site I linked to in
an earlier post has, "In all the years Tom's been here, he's never
once had a visitor," which I think may be correct, especially if the
transcriber is British! For one thing, it doesn't imply that he
arrived there from someplace else.

At any rate, we got the gist of her remark, but I'm glad that the
other accents aren't so hard to understand. I have no problem at all
with Dumbledore or Harry or little Tom, though Tommy does seem to
leave out a word: "I can speak to snakes" sounds to me like "I can
speak snakes." Or maybe he's saying, "I can speak Snake," as if
"Snake" were a language.

Carol, who would feel almost sorry for Tom Riddle if it weren't for
the glimpse of what he'll become that follows the interview
