Seemed a bit overly dramatic for the cave scene??? I thought, for some
reason, that the cave had a green hue to it, but perhaps that's from
the book cover??
Carol:
I don't know about the ice crystals or whatever they are, but the
scene looks gold because Dumbledore is casting a ring of fire. In the
book, it takes all his strength. Here he doesn't seem to have been
weakened by the potion. However, the green you're remembering is not
just from the book cover. The potion itself is green (what comes to my
mind is antifreeze) and gives off a green glow, which is the only
light in the cave except their wands (until Dumbledore casts the ring
of fire). I think you're right that they've made it overly
dramatic--yes, it should be scary, but part of that is psychological
terror--Harry's fear for Dumbledore as he drinks the horrible potion.
Of course, the Inferi should be scary in themselves, but in the book,
it's not at all a great battle like the between one the uninjured
Dumbledore and Voldemort. (BTW, I notice that Dumbledore seems to be
using his left hand in the Pensieve scene but his right hand, which we
don't see up close, in the Inferi scene.) Anyway, I suspect that we'll
see the green glow in the movie. Fans will expect it.
Valerie:
> Not sure about that scene either with Harry running through the corn
field/reeds. That's definitely Greybeck growling and lurking in the
weeds. Jenny's wand almost seems to be 'expelliarmus-ed' (sp?!) I'm
thinking that must all be during the Burrow attack.
Carol:
I hope not, or maybe they've juxtaposed two scenes. They can't have
two scenes with Harry pursued by/pursuing Death Eaters, and if they've
replaced "The Flight of the Prince" (as well as the attack on the
Burrow in DH) with an uncanonical chase through the Weasleys' fields,
I'm going to be very unhappy. But as zanooda pointed out, the attack
occurs at Christmas, and this scene doesn't look like Christmas at
Hogwarts--Ginny in a light robe and no snow on the ground. (I just
realized--SPOILER ALERT--DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN KEEPING UP
WITH FILM NEWS AND DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN IN THE
MOVIE AS OPPOSED TO THE BOOK--

Mr. Weasley is attacked by Greyback in this film. I'll bet that's
what's happening here. But, then, what about "the Flight of the
Prince"? they can't leave that out. It's too important.
Valerie:
> I'm not remembering Ron getting poisoned. Is that the love potion scene?
Carol:
Remember, after Ron is cured of the love potion, he becomes all
depressed. Harry points out that it's his birthday, and Slughorn
decides to celebrate "Poor Rupert's" recovery/birthday with a round of
Madam Rosmerta's best mead that he bought for Dumbledore as a
Christmas present but decided to keep for himself. The mead turns out
to be poisoned. (You do remember who's behind it?)

Carol:
Might be a good idea to refresh your memory. The mead is an important
plot point.
Carol, glad that they've kept in the mead as well as the necklace and
hoping that not too much else is changed
