Hi all,
I just had to start a post and tell all of you my experience in NYC
recently. My 20 year old daughter & I went to see Equus this past
Wednesday. Simply stunning! What a fabulous, powerful, emotional,
even funny at times show. It reminded me why I love the theater so
much. Superb.
Dan was excellent, they all were really. I was so impressed by all of
the performances. You could feel Dan & Richard Griffiths rapport on
stage. Some very funny scenes together; but were still as dramatic as
they were meant to be. Magical.
We had great seats, 4th row from the stage and the Broadhurst theater
is pretty small, very cozy and inviting. As Dan & Mr. Griffiths
looked out into the audience sometimes, their eyes really connected
with some members, myself included. It felt amazing. It was an
experience my daughter & I will never forget.
Unfortunately we weren't able to get close enough to the stagedoor to
get an autograph from Dan; but I did get one from Mr. Griffiths and
was able to tell him how wonderful I thought his performance was.
Very gracious man.
By the way, as I'm sure you can all recall, that photo of Dan & the
horse that came out two years ago when he was doing the London show,
was a total fake. Dan has grown into a fine young man.
I did feel quite sad for him though, as he lost his grandmother
recently and is still doing the shows. A true professional.
Any questions? I'll be happy to answer...
I hope you all have enjoyed this little personal review.
