I forgot to mention that Harry's ascribing the pain in his scar to
Snape's piercing glance when it's really caused by Voldemort looking
out the back of Snape's head is straight from the books. Both the
reader and the filmgoer are supposed to see and judge Snape as Harry
does (but perhaps adult readers and viewers will have reservations)
until the surprise revelation of Quirrell in front of the Mirror of
Erised and Dumbledore's (partial) explanation of Snape's behavior,
which, IIRC, is absent from the film. But his continued antagonism
toward Harry in both books and films keeps us wondering where his
loyalties lie.

Voldy doesn't see out the back of "Snape's" head, he can't even break into
Snape's mind. He's sees out the back of Quirrell's head.
