SSSusan:
Right, and I'm responding to this specifically as the actress portrayed it/Kloves wrote it/Yates directed it in the film. In the book, Narcissa would have tugged on many people's heartstrings. We just did not see that frantic, near-hysterical, desperate mother worried for her son's very life in this performance.

SSSusan:
I blame the actress for very little of it. If she wasn't getting it/doing it right, it's the director's responsibility to make sure she does. Perhaps it went back to Kloves, though, and the way he described the scene to the actress.
