That said, I'd be proud to see my name flashed up on screen for a second. All those folks deserve to be recognized; most folks don't sit thru the credits. I always do for HP films; not for most others. I have to say that I really miss the creative way that the credits were displayed in POA, in particular w/the marauders map. I feel that Yates didn't have that much creative input in the last 3 films (credits-wise). This is distributed through the United Nations World Food Programme. It's fun, educational and worthwhile! The UN World Food Programme (WFP) distributes all of the rice that you donate to help fight hunger. It is the United Nations frontline agency in the fight against global hunger and the world's largest humanitarian organization, working closely with many other organizations in over 75 countries. In addition to providing food, WFP helps hungry people to become self-reliant so that they escape hunger for good. Wherever possible, they purchase food locally to save on transportation costs and to help boost local markets. If you are interested here is the link to the group. http://www.freerice.com/content-group/harry-potter-fans-fight-hunger You will have to register (it's free) and then join the group. To have your totals count toward the groups totals each time, login, go to the group link and then click "play" from there. Currently we have 16 members who have earned 20,200 grains of rice since I started the group on Oct 18. This is without any advertising, so I am hoping for a big jump now. I think it is possible to have 250,000 grains donated by the end of the year, all from Harry Potter fans! I apologize if you get multiple copies of this from multiple Harry Potter groups. And I also apologize if this breaks the rules for any of the groups. I promise it is a one-time mention and it is for charity, so I hope the breech of protocol will be forgiven. I'm listening to HP5 on CD and it was at the part when Moody had just shown Harry the OotP pic (NOT Sirius in the train station, as per the movie). Harry is disturbed seeing his parents, the Longbottoms and others, dead or mentally destroyed. Mrs. Weasley is in the parlour of Sirius's house trying to get rid of the boggart which keeps turning into dead Weasleys. Lupin, Sirius and Moody come up and Lupin is trying to console both Harry & Mrs. W. He says something like "It's not like it was before. We're much more prepared." Mrs. W: "I keep picturing my family dead...I'm so worried!" I'm concurrently reading DH and am almost to the Hogwarts battle scene, thinking "Hedwig, Moody, Lupin, Tonks, Fred"....so many were going to die and none of us knew it at the time. boohooo! I'm both looking forward to, and sad for it to be the final film and to see some great characters get bumped off. ;-( By the way, wonder why they didn't have Wormtail's silver hand kill him in Part 1? Not that anyone would've been too chagrined over his loss, but I'm wondering if the director thought it would be too cryptic to have Harry say "I saved your life!" and have viewers remember all the way back to that scene in POA in the Shrieking Shack. I was wondering how the movie got away with Harry talking to a piece of broken glass, if you'd never read the books and only saw the movies you'd have no idea what that was all about. Cat Says: I could be terribly wrong but I faintly remember when this marvelous news came up...Granted the sets had been (and would be) destroyed for the shooting of the final "Battle at Hogwarts" scenes BUT they were planning to rebuild them as accurately as possible as a tourist attraction. (IMHO a definite money spinner that one!) NOW, consider the logic of this ... a normal movie set is built for temporary service ... so that certain pieces break away for camera shots, stone is sculpted foam, etc. Also there is room for: actors, crew, cameras, cables, lights, and various movie-making equipment is all over. (BTW Movie sets are dangerous places ... lots of stuff to trip over etc.) So, for it to be a functional and sturdy tourist attraction, things would have to be rebuilt in a more permanent fashion and certain things will have to be moved and/or changed to support the tremendous foot traffic and inevitable touchy-feely visitor. ALSO, like you mentioned Valerie room for: All of the REAL costumes, props, story board ... wonderful things not to be missed and really add alot to the whole experience. Personnally speaking: I would much rather go to England to see the REAL studio with all the sets and props than to travel to Florida to visit the Theme Park! Fake-snow covered Hogsmeade, with shorts & sandal clad tourists gorping about in 85 degree weather. I don't recall it in any of the movies. I mean we knew Wormtail has a silver hand at least, though, it seems somewhat pointless, as it is a plot point that is never resolved. But, to never mention Sirius mirror gift to Harry, then suddenly Harry has the magic shard of mirror, completely unexplained. I didn't mind because I read the books, but my brother is going to be completely baffled when he sees the last two movies. (It didn't occur to me that the mirror hadn't been explained in the movies until later) I do remember while reading the books that I had wished that Harry had remembered to check up on Sirius via the mirror rather than Umbridge's fire ... But of course that would have really stalled the plot. Regarding Wormtail's death ... I will be VERY disappointed if turns out to be the last surviving Marauder. In the books ... the timing and method of his demise was quite apropos. He has to be punished for his betrayl and dishonesty! So maybe they won't kill him off at all? I'm just going to be annoyed if they don't give poor Neville his Hero Moment of killing Nagini! Also, I wonder, since they ditched the whole Percy-estranged-from-the- Weasleys storyline, if they are going to have it be George there throwing himself on poor dead Fred's body, instead of Percy? I always thought it was a little odd that George wasn't around when that happened. Those twins were always joined at the hip, ya know?! And I'm hoping that they give Lupin/Tonks a Hero's death as well. Just my 2 knuts on the matter! ;-) > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
