It's difficult to say much without risking spoiling it for anyone who
hasn't seen it yet...
Overall I enjoyed the film, MUCH more than the previous one. I still
won't see it more than once in a cinema as I still haven't forgiven Warner
Brothers for the lesson they gave us and all the children out there -
lying and breaking promises is fine if you can make a buck at it.
In the films they do seem to have a way of missing out some of the most
emotional moments in the books.
In film 6 - Fleur's exchange with Molly after Bill was attacked
In this one - Hermione explaining to Harry why her parents wouldn't miss
her. In fact the obliviate scene makes no sense to anyone who hadn't read
the books.
Before seeing the film, I felt that dividing it into two was right.
But it didn't feel like the end of a film, it felt like the end of part
one of a two-part TV drama, where you expect to watch part two the next
day or week on your TV.
I think I'd have preferred a four hour film to an eight month wait.
Either that or a longer wait for part 1 so we could see the two close
together.
If I was asked to revew it properly, I'd have to wait and see all of it
before giving a final thumbs up or thumbs down.
So half a thumb up for part 1
