I disagree, that scene was in the book and it would have made sense even if you hadn't read the book; I liked that part very much. However, even if you'd watched all 6 previous movies the day before, the bit about the broken mirror made absolutely no sense unless you read the book. Why on earth was Harry carrying around a sharp piece of glass, in his sock of all places? Wasn't that a bit unsafe given all the running around he was doing? And a nonreader would have no idea who Harry even thought he was talking to when he yelled "help us" into the shard much less know who he was really talking too.

Then again maybe the movie makers were right, nearly everybody had read Harry Potter.

Given that Potter movies cost about 3 million dollars a minute to make you would expect a double admission charge for such a movie. Come to think of it, why is it customary for a low budget flop and a high budget hit to charge the same admission?
