I bet if you could get JKR to tell the absolute truth, she would say she was disappointed with the last movie. As an author and the one who created the HP Universe, there could be no other conclusion.

I would agree that the movies drifted from the books and the final
battle should have been as JKR wrote it because it is very
disappointing that everyone did not see the death of V. Glad that
you are convalescing.
