I don't believe that's a fact. The books had a lot of issues as well. My
other issue with that sort of analogy is that the films are a completely
different medium.
Seems to me that quite often people go into the films with the expectation
of what's going to happen next, since they've learned the books to the point
where every scene is an expectation and they are no longer watching a film,
they are watching for scenes from the books.
You'll never enjoy a film adaptation until you can watch a film as something
that stands on it's own.
