Hi everyone! I'm new to the list :) My name is Shar (short for
Sharlene) and I'm 21 years old. I live in Brooklyn and I am a part of
the regular HPFGU list, but I got the link to this one from another
group I'm a part of (NYC Roswell Fans). Anyway, this is a bit last
minute, but I figure if you're in the city or can get there by 3:30,
see if you can make it! It should be fun. I'll be there with a friend
of mine.

Here's all the information that you'll need to get a ticket and find
the venue, including trains to get there (if you don't know).
Panel Discussion: The Science of Harry Potter
Description: Join award-winning Harry Potter animator (and creator of
Dobby) David Andrews and The Science of Harry Potter author Roger
Highfield for a look at how science, technology and standard muggle
physics becomes practical movie magic onscreen.
Length: 90 min.
Price: $20.00
Location: The Tribeca Performing Arts Center @ 199 Chambers Street
(between Greenwich St & the West Side Highway)
You can buy your at The Box Office, which is located at 387
Greenwich Street (between N. Moore Street & Beach Street). You may
also be able to get them at the door, but check online first and when
you order a ticket, see if it says DOOR. If it does, I believe you'll
be able to pay for a ticket at the door.
I would go to Mapquest and put in the location of the venue and then
add the box office location to it, so you can see both on the little
map, print it out and have that for reference if you don't know the
area too well.
The closest train to both locations is the 2. For the venue though,
you can take the 1,2,3 or 9 to Chambers Street. Only the 2 to
Franklin Street goes closest to the Box Office. You can also take the
N or R to City Hall and walk up, as well as the 4,5,6,J,M or Z to the
Brooklyn Bridge stop and walk some more :D The A & C go to Chambers
Street (& Church Street), the E goes to the World Trade Center.
I'll probably buy my ticket online, as it'll save the hassle of
having to go to the box office. I also figured we'd just meet up at
the Tribeca Performing Arts Center, maybe grab a cheapie bite to eat
afterwards for whoever's hungry after that.
